Forum on Youth Unemployment

Left Right Think-Tank presents a Forum on Youth Unemployment - 9:15am 11 Thursday March NSW Parliament House

Do you want to challenge ideas in policy making? Are you looking for opportunities to network with experts and inspiring young people?

Left Right Think-Tank will be hosting a forum on youth unemployment at NSW Parliament House on Thursday 11 March at 9:15am. Register your attendance to k.morris@leftright.org.au to reserve a place. You are encouraged to confirm your attendance ASAP as limited places are available.

The event will include Craig Reucassel (of “The Chasers” fame) as Master of Ceremonies and informative presentations by Josh Levy (“Schools First” National Project Manager) and the Left Right Think-Tank team on the need to tackle Australia’s persistently high levels of youth unemployment.

Specifically, you will hear the team’s proposal for a public-private partnership that aims to improve employment outcomes for young Australians. You are encouraged to share your views, pose questions and network with Left Right Think-Tank guests and presenters.

We look forward to your attendance at this event.

National Youth Week 2010 held throughout March in Queensland

Left Right Think Tank will be running a National Youth Week program this year in partnership with the Brisbane City Council. The aim of the program is to find out what issues/concerns/ideas young people have for the future of Brisbane and wider Queensland.

Left Right Think-Tank is running consultation workshops with a diverse range of young people throughout March. Organisations involved so far include Albert Park Flexi School, Brisbane Youth Service, Salvation Army Youth Outreach Centre, Young Parents Program and Open Doors Gay, Lesbian and Transgender support network. We will hold two open workshops for any interested young people on Wed 3rd March and Wed 17th March at 6pm in Visible Ink, Fortitude Valley. Enjoy a free lunch and use the opportunity to launch your ideas to government and discover the views and experiences of other young people.

These consultations will feed into a forum event called 'Our State. Our City. Our Future.' to be held during Youth Week - Friday 16th April 1:30-3pm at Parliament House. Local and state politicians will attend to discuss and connect with young people on the issues they have raised.

Please direct queries about these activities to Elizabeth Cullen at e.cullen@leftright.org.au.
