Our Queensland team are tack­ling the issue of fin­an­cial trans­par­ency in gov­ern­ment decision-making, noting that mis­in­form­a­tion and inad­equate levels of eco­nomic know­ledge harm the public debate. As voters, Australians deserve to know and under­stand how budget and eco­nomic decisions affect them. The Queensland Fellows will study the way in which fin­an­cial inform­a­tion is relayed by the gov­ern­ment to the public, ques­tion­ing whether the former is being com­pletely trans­par­ent and fair in trying to adequately inform all Australians.
